Beam trawling in heavy seas in the North Sea near the Dogger Bank off the coast of England. The trawl here is breaching the water as it is towed at 6.5 knots. The European Commission estimates that some fishing fleets are capable of exerting a fishing pressure which is two to three times the sustainable level.
